The Hunger Games Inspired - original character

The sun was so bright it blinded her for a moment, and she had to blink a few times to get used to it, even feeling tears in her eyes. It wasn't like the sun she had been observing through her room's window, but something that seemed almost artificial. As she stood on her metal circle, knowing she would blow up if she dared to step out before the countdown was over, Maeve took the chance to look around.

They were all around the Cornucopia, and there were woods everywhere she saw. That was good, that was an advantage for them. Anxiety bubbled in her stomach when she couldn't find him anywhere. It took a few seconds until she finally did, too far away from her, and she knew it had been on purpose to make it harder for them to reunite.

There were so many items they could use, but that would mean a fight to the death for them with bare hands or anything that could be reached at the moment. It was too risky. Then she saw it, a bow and arrows resting somewhere near where she was. She could run and get it, but her only option would be to run into the woods in the opposite direction from where her partner was.

Waiting time was over, and the gong resonated in her ears. She barely had time to react, stepping down and into the ground. It was a mess already of people running around and screaming, but she wasted no time in rushing towards him.

There were no weapons anywhere near her; all of those were closer to the Cornucopia, and Careers were already surrounding them. It would be stupid to try to get anything from there. Instead, she grabbed a loaf of bread that wasn't much, but at least would keep them fed for a night. It was difficult to focus with all the screaming and confusion; she barely missed a backpack.

She hadn't really expected someone to reach out for it at the same time, and when their hands met, she could see the panic in the boy's eyes that probably was a mirror of her own. She was ready to fight for it if she had to, when hot blood landed all over her face. The boy fell to the ground, and she barely had a second to make a decision, throwing the bread into the pack and reaching for the knife at his back before running away.

Slice of life - original character

She never thought she would do this.

It all had started like a normal day at school. Dealing with a group of girls who didn't like her much because they considered her the same as them for having a scholarship wasn't new; Olivia mostly ignored it. But that day her two friends hadn't been around, and she had to work on her own recipe for a lavender cheesecake.

She hadn't really noticed when they had changed the oven temperature and thrown a plastic whisk in it until it was too late. The smoke had filled the large space, the smell was terrible, and nobody wanted to have issues with them. After everything was said and done, and the industrial oven was ruined and would have to be replaced, she was called to the administration office.

Now she had no scholarship and no way to pay the tuition.

When she received a private message from one of her kindest subscribers, the one who left the biggest tips, she decided to reply. At first, she didn't know if meeting him in person was a good idea.

Anxiety bubbled within her as she walked into one of the most luxurious apartment buildings in the city. With a ding, her arrival was announced as the doors of the private elevator slid open to the most gorgeous view ever, and she walked into the place as she looked around. "Hello?"
